Massage is the systematic and scientific manipulation of the soft tissues of the body for the purpose of obtaining or maintaining health.  The history of massage and healing touch is long and complex, with more than 75 different types of massage and bodywork.  The earliest signs of massage date back to 15,000BC where European cave paintings depict what appears to be the use of therapeutic touch.  Massage progressed and was actually referred to as Amma in China , which is regarded as the precursor to all the therapies.  Massage is now widely used for general relaxation, therapeutic needs, body alignment, inflammation, headaches, scar tissue, pain management and many other needs.
